Silva, AndieDr. Andie Silva (she/her) is associate professor of English and Deputy Chair at York College and associate professor in the MA in Digital Humanities program at the Graduate Center, CUNY.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of book history and print culture, popular culture, and digital humanities. Her monograph, The Brand of Print: Marketing Paratexts in the Early English Book Trade (Brill, 2019), analyzes the title pages and prefatory materials written by printers and publishers to build their audience and develop recognizable, unique brands. Her work has appeared in a range of journals such as The Journal of Interactive Teaching and PedagogyAppositions, and Changing English. She has recently published two edited collections: Digital Pedagogy in Early Modern Studies: Method and Praxis, co-edited with Scott Schofield (Iter Press, 2024) and Using Commonplace Books to Enrich Medieval and Renaissance Courses, co-edited with Sarah E. Parker (Arc Humanities Press, 2023).

Dr. Silva is the editor in chief of SHARP News, the open-access digital newsletter for the Society for the History of Reading, Authorship, and Publishing. She is also general editor (with Shereen Inayatulla) of WSQ
